On January 3rd, we are starting the "It's Your Life" 365 class again. It is a really great class that goes all year long. How great would it be to go back at the end of the year and see all the great things you did in 2010? Come check it out and get started with us again. We want to give Sandy Wylie a great big THANK YOU for doing the class in 2009. We really appreciate it.

Sandy is also heading up a great set of monthly card making days for our troops serving overseas. Each month we will have Cards for Troops. This is a great program where you come in and make cards to send to our troops overseas. In doing so, you provide the troops with cards to send to their loved ones. Come in to the store and ask us more about this program.

Another great announcement is we have created an Etsy account to sell Marcia's Kits. Everyone loves her kits, so we decided to make them available for purchase online.

Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone is enjoying the wonder fall weather we have been having. I got to spend a few days at Birch Bay and loved every minute of it. Vickie and I made our final pilgrimage to Treasury of Memories in Bellingham. I will really miss that store. It seems we scrappers are part of one big family and don't like it when one of our own leaves the nest. My trips to Birch Bay will not be the same. Vickie and I often talked about where we spent most of our time........at the cabin or at Treasury of Memories! I wish Elizabeth and all of her staff the best. They will certainly be missed.
Shawna is in Las Vegas on business this week and I am trying not to open all the shipment boxes that have come in. Trying is the key word. So far I have not succeeded, however, one huge box arrived today and I've been too busy to dig into it. Do you know how hard it is to walk by the box and not look into it? I still have a long time until closing. I'm feeling confident I will find time to investigate its contents before closing. After all, isn't it my job to make sure I familiarize myself with all the new product? Why wait until its on the floor and have to walk around the entire store when its right here at my fingertips? Doesn't make sense to me! I did find a shipment of the Basic Grey new line, Indian Summer. I love the papers! They are so soft and pretty. I'm sure Shawna will have them out next week, along with all the embellishments, Christmas and others. There are some real must haves!
Vickie's Haunted House Book class for next Sat, October 17 is nearly full. There are a couple of spaces left. If you haven't seen it, check it out on our website. Its very creative and fun! It has been very popular.
Many of you know Marcia, our owner, is battling a rare form of leukemia. She is back in the hospital undergoing her final rounds of chemo before her bone marrow/stem cell transplant scheduled for next Wednesday, October 14. Check out her progress on Marcia's Place on our website. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. We miss her dearly and want her back!!
Our Cricut Club will be meeting this Sunday, October 10 from 1-4p. We will be playing with the new cartridge, From My Kitchen. It has a lot of fun things on it. If you are not a Cricut Club member, you can still join us for $5.00. That will give you access to all of our cartridges for the day. What a deal!! For those of you who do not own a Cricut, we are in the process of setting up a system where, for a small fee, you can bring in your personal mat and use our machine. Check back for details!
I finally got my call from the airline that I am healthy enough to return to flying. I am excited, yet sad. It will be hard to leave everyone here. My training isn't scheduled until November 16. I have to leave this next weekend, but hope to return the week of October 26. It will all depend on what the company has lined up for me. I'm not ready to leave here for good. Its just not the same scrapping by myself. No one there gives me grief for listening to Delilah! I sure get enough of it here!
I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the last of the fall colors before colder weather appears. I see it has been super cold in Minnesota, thankfully, no snow........yet. Several years ago we had one of our worst blizzards on Halloween night. One never knows when snow will appear! After last year, you might be able to say the same thing here!
One last thing, make sure you come in and meet our two new employees, Kaye and Katri (pronounced caw-tree). They are very helpful and fun to be around.

Have a good weekend!
Debb

PS I just went through the big shipment box and lo and behold it is full of the cutest KaiserCraft Advent Calendars! I'm sure these won't last long!!! There are also tons of new papers, etc. I can't wait for Shawna to get back and get these things ready to sell. I'll be first in line!

Monday, September 21, 2009

Hi Everyone!
I am finally back "home" and loving it. I have missed everyone so much. Its good to be back among my "family".
This past weekend was our ScrapPink Breast Cancer Awareness Crop. I've never seen so much pink in one place!! The room was beautifully decorated. The food was spectacular, down to pink sugar cookies shaped like the pink awareness ribbon. Must say, those were my favorite. The chocolate fountain was a hit, too. We had some cancer survivors with us, including a visit from Marcia. Its hard for her to stay away from the store, especially during parties. She is preparing for her stem cell/bone marrow transplant in October. A donor has been found, all the way over in Europe. Someone from her team will travel over to get it and bring it back. Its quite the process. We are all saying our prayers that all will go well and her body will not reject the marrow. Meanwhile, she looks and feels great. We miss her terribly!
My first day at the store was exciting. I got to see all the new product, plus there were 9 boxes of things not yet on the floor! You know me...........I love getting those boxes. We still have some left to inventory, etc, but most of it is out and ready to buy. We got a couple of new lines of Christmas paper, one from American Crafts (Merrymint) and the other from Imaginisce (Polar Expressions). They are both very festive. We also got Halloween papers and embellishments, KasierCraft board books and clocks, lots of new travel papers and stickers, and more things than I can mention here. You will definitely want to come in and tour the store to see all the fun things.
Many of you know Vickie, our designer and sweet friend. She has suffered a severe MS attack and has not been at the store in several weeks. At this point we do not know when she will be able to return. She is currently using a wheelchair and tires easily. She came to visit us during ScrapPink and loved seeing everyone. She misses everyone and hopes to be back soon.
I have been busy teaching Cricut Classes. I am scheduling a Cricut I and II on Sunday, Sept. 27. Check the website for exact times. We also have ScrapBingo coming up on Sunday, October 4th, from 1-5p. If you haven't come in for one of these crops, you must. They are so much fun. You get to crop with your friends and play Bingo, too. I don't like it when I'm working up front and hear everyone laughing and having fun and I'm not included! I haven't been able to convince Marcia to close the store so I can join in the fun. I think it's only fair, right?
Vickie designed the cutest Haunted House Halloween book. We have the class set up for Oct. 17. She hopes to be able to come in and teach it. The book has been very popular. Sign up early as class space is limited.
I'm not sure how long my visit will be this time. I am waiting to hear from the company doctor saying I can return to work. As of today, I have not heard. I know I have to be back in Minnesota the middle of October. Until then, I am treasuring every moment I am here with great friends. Vickie and I are planning on going to the Puyallup Fair on Thurs. I have to wear steel-toed shoes when I am around her because she tends to run over my feet with her wheelchair. I already have one wounded toe, no need to have nine more!

Hope to see you soon!

Hi!
I guess summer is here in full force. I can't believe how hot it has been. Thank goodness the store is air conditioned. I'm definitely used to hot weather in Minnesota, but I'm also used to everyone having AC. I tend to get a bit crabby when I'm sweating. Just ask Vickie!
Vickie's kids classes have been a real hit. They have been making mini books and having a ball. This coming week (Thurs 1-3p) they will be making a Summer Tag Book. The classes are open to kids 7+ and adults. If you child is under 7, you will need to stay with them. The classes coming up are wonderful. There is a Princess Castle Kaiser Board Book that is loaded with glitz and glitter. Check our website for the lineup of classes. Call and get signed up quickly as they are filling up fast. She is also making a Back to School Journal that is so fun. Kids will love taking it to school and showing it off to their friends.
We got the newest line from Basic Grey........Junebug. It is soooo cute! There is a card kit that goes with it, too. I love Basic Grey. They always come up with great papers. They have become my favorite, with Bo Bunny running close behind.
I am finally heading home (Minnesota) on Monday. I know people will find that hard to believe since the date has changed several times. What can I say? I'm fine with leaving now, but come Monday, I'll be singing a different tune. It will be hard to leave all the great friends I have made here, but I plan on coming back as often as I can. I have a 6mo granddaughter I hardly know. Its time she gets to know her Grandma Debb!! The other 2 granddaughters are counting the days until I come back with all my crafts. I always have lots of fun projects we make together. Needless to say, it has been an expensive trip for me to work here! I keep telling Marcia that I pay her to work for her. Sad, but true. I can't even begin to get all my "new" scrapbooking things home. I may have to hire a FedEx airplane. It might be cheaper than trying to get it home myself. I'm amazed at how much that cute paper weighs!
Most of you know that our leader, Marica, has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. She is currently in the hospital until the doctors can stabilize the bleeding in her brain and the swelling of her brain. The brain swelling has caused her to have double vision and she is frustrated by that. She is being considered for a stem cell transplant. As of now, she has daily chemo-based shots. She is looking forward to getting out of the hospital and back to seeing all of you. She would love to hear from you. She is in NW Hospital, room 440. She will be there at least through Tuesday or Wednesday, possibly longer. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Enjoy your summer! Can you believe its almost August????? Where has the time gone. I hope to return by September. Earlier if I can. You just never know when I will pop back to Seattle.
Until then, I will miss each and everyone of you. Keep Scrapping!!!!

Hi!
Well, my plan to return to Minnesota the beginning of June didn't happen. I just can't seem to leave. If we would quit getting new shipments of papers and embellishments, it might be easier to leave! But, I have to stay and open every box and see what goodies are coming in. Who could leave when its like Christmas in July??? We got the cutest line from K&Co, Actopus to Zelephant. It has the cutest beach and animal papers with embellishments galore! It has been very popular. We are on our second shipment already. Today a shipment from Basic Grey arrived. Naturally I peeked and found some great papers and bling. I can't wait for it to get on the floor!
We are getting excited about our upcoming Garage Sale..........our Second Annual, on Friday and Saturday, July 10-11. Last year was such a big hit we decided to have it again. This is a great opportunity for you to sell some items you have and know you won't use and get money to buy something you have been eyeing. Call and reserve your table for $18.00. You will want to get in on all the fun. You'll be glad you did.
Vickie's Kids Classes start on Thursday, June 09 at 1pm. She will be teaching a different project each week through July and August. You will definately want your child signed up for these classes. The first one is a canvas board titled All About Me. It is very cute. If your child is 7+ years, you will not need to accompany him/her. Vickie will be making journals, explosion boxes, tag books, summer chipboard books, etc. Check our website for the class of the week.
Our Cricut Club will meet again Sunday, July 12. I plan on making a project from the Life is a Beach cartridge. We will play with that cartridge, as well as Lyrical. Bring in your Cricut and join us in exploring these new cartridges.
Vickie is also teaching an Advanced Beginner's Class this next Tues, July 07. She will show you how to use various embellishments such as eyelets, buttons, ribbons, stickles, chalk and more. These techniques add so much to cards and layouts. Space is limited so call soon to get signed up.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend. We will be open on the 4th from 11-5pm. Come in and crop in our air conditioned classroom. You will stay nice and cool and still have time to go out and watch fireworks with family or friends. Can't beat that!!
Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
It has been one of those crazy weeks. Today our "Beat the Heat" sale has kept us hopping. It has been fun seeing all the familiar faces.....and several new ones! Thanks to all of you for coming in and taking part in our big sale. Don't you just love getting things on sale???
I know a lot of you are participating in the 365 scrapbook project. This is a year long project where you take a picture each day of something that happened and you journal about it. Most people have found this fun, yet challenging. People seem to get stuck on the journaling part. I read an article the other day about how we love to read our grandparents journals. Those who have something written by family from another generation cherish the articles and take special pride in preserving them to last through the next generation. What a great gift we can give our children's children, a history of ourselves, our legacy. Maybe you don't want to do a 365, but whatever you can contribute about your life, will be cherished. I have been giving this a lot of thought. What do my grandchildren want to know about me? Do they even know what a black and white tv is? They certainly don't know how to "dial" a phone. That was proven several years ago when my daughter couldn't figure out how to call out on a dial phone. The expression on her face was priceless! She couldn't figure out what kind of a contraption it was, muchless what to do with it. I want my granddaughters to know all about me, my likes, dislikes, even my fears. The best way I can do this is to leave them my pictures with my handwriting. I want to challenge you this week to think about what your legacy is...........who do you want to share your life. Once you have made that decision, then do something about it. Write something once a day, once a week or month, whenever you can, but just get some of "you" in writing. Journaling cards are perfect to help you get started. They come in all sizes and shapes and can be colorful. They can add dimension to your layouts. I have things my grandmother wrote, but I wish I had things her mother wrote. I want to be better in my journaling so my little girls will have history of me.
The Cricut Club meets tomorrow, Sunday, June 14 from 1-4p. Bring in your cartridges and share projects and ideas with other members. I will be heading back to MN tomorrow so I will not be there to feature a cartridge. I hope to be back this fall. In the meantime, Vickie will be answering all your Cricut questions. She might even be able to get a class or two scheduled. She is also teaching Kid's Classes in July and August. The projects are all theme related, with
a session about frogs in August. We have lots in store for children this summer. Be sure to check the website to get more details.
Next Sunday is ScrapBingo. You can crop for free and play Bingo at the same time. I don't like working those days because everyone is having fun in the back room and I'm up front working. I hate to miss out on all the fun!!! Come in and join in the fun and games. You won't want to miss this day of laughter.
We are anxious to have Marcia back in the store. She has been traveling in Europe and Norway for the past 5 weeks and is due back this next week. We can't wait to see her and hear all about her trip.
Keep checking out our calendar on the website. We update it regularly and would hate to have you miss out on something.
Stay cool this summer. If not, journal about how the heat is driving you nuts!!!

Hi Everyone!
Its good to be back "home"! I came back to Seattle for Vickie's mom's wedding. Yes, you read that right! Her 77yr old mother married a 77yr old man she met at a health and wellness center. They are as giddy in love as two 17yr olds. Vickie went from organizing that wedding to having her daughter get engaged the following weekend. Weddings, weddings and more weddings! Luckily her daughter isn't getting married until June 2010.....plenty of time for Vickie to come up with more ideas. I have been amazed at what creative things brides have been doing these days for invitations, save-the-dates, etc. Vickie is in the process of putting together an entire section of examples to give the prospective brides creative ideas. Look for it in the next couple of weeks.
Have you seen the latest chipboard books by KaiserCraft? We have gotten a huge variety of them and they are the cutest things. There is even a Babushka Doll album. Of course there are the coordinating papers to go with it. These make awesome gifts and can be made up fairly quickly. They are very popular. They come in all sizes and shapes.
You need to come in and see the diecuts I have been making. I have been busy making up various Disney, Hello Kitty, Sesame Street, pet and wedding diecuts. Sometimes you just want a little something to embellish your layouts and can't seem to find the perfect thing. Come in and see what we have. If we don't have it, its possible we can make it up for you. Meanwhile, I am busy making up a variety of things. I've been dreaming about Elmo in my sleep!
We have gotten a whole new shipment of summer papers and embellishments. BoBunny has the cutest, most colorful papers. I can't wait to take pictures to go with the papers. That's the way we scrappers do it, isn't it? Create the pictures around the paper. That's the way I do it anyway. No wonder I have so many papers and so few layouts done for them! Ahh, but the plans I have for them are amazing. Just need to get the pictures taken before I forget!
We have quite the selection of EK Success punches. If you haven't tried them, you need to. They are so easy. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure to make the punch work. I absolutely love them.
We have two different classes for Father's Day books coming up. Vickie and Shawna are each teaching a class. Make sure you check the website and see which one you would like to make for that special "dad" in your life. They are both pretty cute.
I will be here for another week and a half. Then its back to my grandgirls in Minnesota. They are growing fast and I don't want to miss any part of their growing up. Reece, almost 9, is my crafter and sewer, but Ava, 4, is following in her sister's footsteps. We had "Craft Day with Grandma" before I left and we had so much fun. Their mother panicked when she heard Ava mention using glitter. I assured her it was Stickles, liquid glitter. They love it, but then, so do I! I'm getting close to having every color. I can hardly do a layout without using Stickles somewhere. Most of you know what I mean.
Come in and use our classroom to get out of the heat. We have nice air conditioning that will help keep you breathing at a normal level. I don't know how you people live without ac in your homes. If this hot weather keeps up much longer, I'm bringing a cot and camping out in the store overnight! Talk about dreaming layouts, that would do it!!
Hope to see all of you before I leave again. I'm not sure when my next trip out here will be. I'm hoping to be back flying (flight attendant) in July. I can't wait to get in the skies again. But then, working for a living sure cuts down on my free time. We all know that, right?????
Take time to enjoy your days. In our present economy situation, its easy to let stress overtake us. I hope you can find one thing each day to make you smile.

Hi!

We are only 5 days away from National Scrapbook Day, Saturday, May 02. We are getting several Make and Takes ready for the big day. We will be celebrating from 10 - 3p. Make sure you come in and have some fun! We also have an all day crop going on. Lots happening!

We have gotten in new Jolee's that are so cute! I can't pick out a favorite but its between the kiddie sandbox and Times Square. We got in several children's and travel ones. We also got wedding and flowers. All are very cute. I love the detail Jolee's put into their embellishments. They really add to a layout or card.

We had a good time at the Cricut Club. We all got together and used Life is a Beach and made cards and layouts. I love learning different Cricut techniques from everyone. If you have a Cricut, you might want to join our group. We meet once a month and swap cartridges and share various ideas on how to get the best use of our Cricuts. Its amazing to learn a new trick or technique someone else has learned. I love it! Plus, the socializing is wonderful.

Don't forget to check our website for the latest in classes. We have several new ones coming up in May. For everyone who has been asking about the Stationary Box class, we finally have it on the schedule for Sat, May 16 from 11-2. Call and get signed up soon because this class will definitely fill up fast.

National Scrapbook Day will be my last day at the store. The time has come for me to head back to Minnesota. I will love being closer to my granddaughters, but I will miss all of you very much. I have enjoyed getting to know each of you and spending time together has been a huge blessing to me. Each of you has a special place in my heart and I will never forget you. I have lots of pictures to remind me of our times together. My plan is to come back for Cricut Club each month. I probably will have to wait until later this summer to start. I won't be gone forever. Marcia and Shawna can't get rid of me that easily!! Brandi is back and will be taking over the blog. We are happy to have her back on board.

I hope to see you on Saturday for National Scrapbook Day. Thanks for making my time here so memorable. You all will be missed.

Hi!
Weren't these last two days of spring wonderful? Where did it go? Today we are back to normal, overcast and threatening rain. It could be worse. I could be back in Minnesota where they had a snowstorm yesterday. At least we don't have to shovel rain!
We had so much fun last Sunday playing ScrapBingo. We had lots of new faces from the Paper Chase joining us. I ended up coming in, not to work, but to join in the fun! You may want to come in and play bingo while you scrap. Call and get signed up for the next one in May.
Today we got a shipment of Heidi Grace's new line.......Forever Love. Its not only for wedding, but for any special time with friends or family. There are papers and embellishments of all kinds. They should be on the floor by this weekend. You will want to see these for sure!
Have you seen the latest in punches? EK Success has come out with flat ones. They are much easier to use. We got lots of different punches in, both shapes and borders. There is also a storage system for them that makes it easier to carry them with you to crops, etc. Make sure you come in and check them out!! I know they won't last long.
Vickie's Acrylic Book class has a few openings. This class is free, you just need to buy your supplies when you come in. Its a cute little book......perfect for a Mother's Day gift or some special person in your life. She made hers about being a princess, but you can choose your own theme. The class is Sunday, May 03 at 2pm. Hurry and get on the list for this one.
Cricut Club will meet this Sunday, April 26. We have the 2 newest cartridges........Life's a Beach and Lyrical. They are in the store for you to use. The alphabet choices are endless with Lyrical. There are lots of phrases that are very useful. I will be featuring this cartridge Sunday. Bring in your projects and join in the fun. If you are not a Club member, you can pay $5 for the day and use our cartridges. Can't beat that! I would like it if you call and let me know you are coming so I can plan ahead for space. Thanks!
Speaking of Cricut, our Cricut classes are going great! We have had great turnouts for all three classes, Beginners, Advanced and Design Studio. If you have the Cricut machine, make sure you sign up and take one of Linda's classes and learn what all this machine can do. Its amazing.
This Sat, April 24 is our All Day Crop. Come and work on your projects from 10am until midnight. Marcia will be making her traditional big lunch and dessert for later in the evening. Call and sign up by Thursday. This crop is always a good time.
I have been busy making die cuts of Sesame Street characters and Hello Kitty. They have been selling quickly. I just made some dog ones and they are almost gone. I hope to have a variety of die cuts out before I leave next week. I'll probably have to come in at 3am to get them all made. Who needs sleep anyway! I told Vickie I will have to make at least 10 trips back and forth to get all my things. She is taking inventory of all the things I "need" to leave here. Yah, right. I'm thinking I need to get a trailer hitch, hook it up to her scrapbook room and head for home. Just might be easier. Since she is always in the room working, I would be taking her home with me. Its sounding better all the time.
Remember to check our website often. Classes are added and you won't want to miss out on anything!
My last day is Monday. I will be here all weekend so come in and see me while you check out the new product we have.

Hello Everyone!!
Is everyone enjoying this spring-like weather? I'm loving it!!! I hope it stays for a long time.
Everyone sure had a good time during the Second Annual Paper Chase. I miss the crowds of people who came in to see us. I hate to admit this, but I even miss the long lines waiting to check out! It was so much fun seeing eager faces and hearing about the different experiences at each of the stores. I just wish I could have been out there, too!!! Vickie and I started our own Paper Chase yesterday. We visited a couple of stores in the area and checked out their product. I like how each store carries a different version of some of the brands. We hope to visit a couple more stores. Its even fun to do it "after the fact".
Last Sunday we had a full house for the Wax Painting class. The participants had a blast and left with several creations. The pictures they made were beautiful. John will be coming back in May to teach another class. Watch our website for date and time. This class fills up fast so make sure you sign up right away.
We are looking forward to National Scrapbook Day on Saturday, May 2. We are busy getting make n' takes ready. We are even contemplating a decorating contest. Lots of ideas in the works. You won't want to miss it!
Our Cricut Club normally meets on the second Sunday of the month. However, since Easter is this Sunday, we will be meeting April 26, the last Sunday in April. We have the two newest cartridges in the store for you to use.......Life is a Beach and Lyrical. Come in and add some pizazz to your layouts. Lyrical has six different fonts on it. It is a great cartridge. Both of these cartridges will be available for your use on Sunday. Also, make sure you check out the various Cricut classes we are offering. There is one for everyone! If you have Design Studio, make sure you take Linda's class on how to use this program. It increases your Cricut's capabilities and allows endless creativity on your part.
Vickie's Spring Card class on Sunday, April 26 has some openings available. Come in and see these cute cards you will be making. There is a good variety of all occasion cards. Make sure you sign up soon. This class will fill up fast.
Shawna has her monthly Basic Grey card class, Tuesday, April 21. This has been a popular class. If you like Basic Grey papers, this class is for you.
Don't forget about our ScrapBingo on Sunday, April 19. If you just want to come and crop and not play Bingo, that's okay. But I bet you will get caught up in the fun of the game!! The crop is free, and Bingo is $5.00. Its always a lot of fun. Be sure to call and get signed up.
I will be here for another two weeks and then its back to Minnesota for me. I hope these couple of weeks go by slowly. Its going to be hard to leave everyone. For now, I don't even want to think about it. All I know is I have enough scrapbook supplies here to fill a 747 cargo plane! For those of you who aren't familiar with aircraft types, a 747 is HUGE! And I could fill it to the brim. I'm going to have to add on to my house or sell all my furniture just to get my scrapbook stuff in! I'm thinking of putting paper racks in my showers and just use the bathtub. If I'm not careful, I'll be filling up the tub and having to use the garden hose to clean up. Its a good thing this is such a great hobby. It's worth using the garden hose. But, my neighbors might squawk.
Have a good weekend!

Hi Scrappin' Friends!
We are in the second week of the Paper Chase and having a blast! I love all the excitement of new people coming in to see us. I find myself having just as much fun as they are. I am amazed at the number of husbands accompanying their wives on the Chase. Several of them have had their own passports! Men are getting just as addicted to this hobby as us women. Yeah!
Are you familiar with Heidi Swapp's Mega Masks? These are great new techniques to offer more creativity to your projects. You can use ink, acrylic and water color paints, etc to make attractive backgrounds for pictures. These masks are re-usable and come in circles, stars, hearts, and bracket frames. They are truly amazing. You will want to come in and check these out for yourself.
We have just a couple of spaces left to sign up for our Wax Painting class on April 5. John Vandebrooke from Edmonds is teaching this unique class using the European Encaustic method, using hot irons to paint. He will be showing you how wax combines with photography, card making or rubber stamp work. The possibilities for using this method are endless. This class is 4 hours and includes all materials. We have some examples of his work. Come in and learn about this new and exciting technique.
ScrapBingo is a big hit. Its the 3rd Sunday of each month from 1-5p. Bring your UFO's (unfinished objects) and play several games of Bingo throughout the day. Guaranteed to have lots of fun. The prizes aren't bad, either.
Shawna has lots of new mini-book and card classes coming up. She is doing a monthly Basic Grey card class. These cards are great for any occasion. Check these out on our website. Vickie is also teaching Beginning Scrapbooking for those of you who are new or just need a jumpstart to get going. You will leave here with a completed 2pg layout. In her Advanced Scrapbooking class she will show you different technqiues for adding your own creativity to your pages. She has some great ideas.
Our Cricut Club will be meeting April 26 this month. This is a change from the 2nd Sunday because of Easter. We will also be changing in May because Mother's Day falls on the 2nd Sunday. Check the website for dates. This club is a great way to get together with other Cricut owners to share cartridges and ideas. You can also use any of the store's cartridges to complete your projects. Call and sign up for this club.
Speaking of the Cricut, if you have the Design Studio, Linda will be teaching another class on Wed., April 22. This is a great way to learn the many features of this program. The Design Studio expands the use of all the Cricut cartridges. Its truly an amazing product.
As you can tell, I am still in Seattle and not back in Minnesota. I have decided to stay through most of April before heading "home". I want to make sure there is no snow back there! I am having way too much fun here to worry about snow and cold. Who needs it, I say?? I do miss my granddaughters a lot, though. Thank goodness for pictures and phone calls.
Come in and say hi. We are constantly getting in new things. You won't want to miss out of these "necessities".
Enjoy the sunshine. I love the flowers that are popping up all over. Makes me smile!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Where is this cold weather coming from and why is it here? I thought I left it back in MN. Today I actually had to scramble for a jacket to wear. Now, I'm not complaining since today MN is getting another blizzard. Just would prefer for it to be warmer here. Wouldn't we all???
We are so excited for the Paper Chase to begin! We got our Passports today and there are some great stores this year. If you haven't signed up yet, we have a few passports and pins left. Come in and be a part of this fun event.
You all know how much I love it when product arrives. Well a big shipment of Bo Bunny papers and embellishments arrived today! I absolutely love these days!!! The papers are bright and springy. There are flowers, buttons and stickers to go with them. All so cute! They should be on the floor to sell by tomorrow. You will want to come in and see them. They will definitely sell quickly. We also got some Zutter kits and supplies. So much fun. I'm getting tempted to join in the Zutter craze. Its now on my "must have" list. It makes the coolest books.
On a sad note, we are having to say goodbye to Kim, one of our favorite employees. Her husband just got laid off from Microsoft and since they are Canadian, they must leave the country immediately. This Wednesday will be her last day with us. We will all miss her a lot. She has been a lot of fun. We wish her well going back "home".
Be sure to visit our website to see all the new classes we are offering. We have had several requests for making cards so Vickie has decided to teach a Spring/Easter Card Class on March 22. Make sure to sign up soon as this will be a popular class.
Come in and see all of our new products. Things keep arriving daily! In the meantime, stay warm and dry. Not an easy thing to do these days!

Hi!

I went back to Minnesota last week and lasted all of 2 days. We got a huge blizzard the day I decided to come "home" to Seattle. It took me two days to get here! I felt like I was traveling by carrier pigeon. The first day I got as far as Phoenix. Because of all the delays, my flight to Seattle was long gone. Luckily I was able to get on the first flight Friday morning to Seattle. Since I work for the airlines, I am more than used to long delays. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there traveling who don't understand the concept of "safety first". I saw people throw tantrums because the airport was closed (due to blizzard and high winds) and their flights weren't leaving on time. Needless to say, my nine hours of sitting in the airport that day made for great people watching. Better than any reality show on tv!

I got back here just in time for the new shipments. I love seeing the boxes come in through the door! Its like Christmas all over again! We got some of the cutest baby/children stickers and papers you have ever seen. The Yellow Bicycle chipboard and scallop paper set finally arrived. I can see why it sells out quickly. It is really cute. I like it because the paper is already scalloped to fit on the chipboard. So quick and easy to create a book for that special child. We also got lots of Yellow Bicycle embellishments to add to it.

We got some Snag 'em Stamps that are just the cutest. This is a line of clear stamps from Imaginisce. They are small, only about 2-3 inches. There are several themes, birds, frogs, castles, etc. Very versatile.......and fun!

For those of you with Girl Scouts in your families, we have lots of GS paper and embellishments. Make sure you come in and check out our selection.

Our classes continue to draw a lot of interest. Shawna is teaching her Clock Class again. So many people have requested she offer it again. It is a great clock and people have loved making it. Look for this class on Sunday, March 22. She is also teaching a Canvas Wall Hanging class on Sunday, March 29. Also, she has the cutest little Bitty Book in a Box. Check our website for information on all of these classes.

Our Cricut classes have been very popular. We have one Wednesday, March 4, featuring our new teacher, Linda. I will offer one on Sunday, March 15, for those of you who prefer a weekend class. If you have a cricut, you definitely want to be in one of these classes!

Vickie will be doing her Techniques classes again. These classes have been very popular. She is also planning on teaching card making classes. Keep checking our website as we are often adding classes.

We are also excited about the Northwest Paper Chase, aka Shop Hop. We have a few pins left. Make sure you get yours soon so you will get all the benefits when you visit the participating shops. It will be a lot of fun for everyone.

I hope everyone has a good week. For those of you who know Marcia, one of our owners, she has been under the weather the past several weeks. We are hoping the doctors can take good care of her and get her back with us. WE MISS HER!!

Spring is definitely here. As I was walking my dog this morning, I saw a bed of crocus, all in full bloom. They were beautiful. The crocus back home are still buried under 10 inches of snow! They don't bloom until mid to late April. It was so refreshing to see them today. Made me thankful I can come out here and get an early taste of spring!

Enjoy your week,

Hi!

I keep hearing spring is just around the corner. I sure hope its true! Although, I feel like this IS spring! We are still getting snow in Minnesota. Now, that's not even close to spring!

Spring has definitely sprung at the store. We got in lots of new papers this week..........so cute! We got a new line of Basic Grey and its fabulous. If you are a fan of Three Bugs in a Rug papers, you will love the new line that came in yesterday. I can't wait to make some new layouts with them. We got so many new papers that we had to put some great things in the sale room. We also got adorable paper-torn animals for your layouts. They are precious! They have been selling fast. Make sure you stop by and see all the new things we have.

Since I will soon be returning to Minnesota, we have a new Cricut instructor, Linda. She really knows the Cricut, inside and out. She will be teaching the Basic Cricut classes and also Design Studio. If you have a Cricut, you will really want to get in on these classes. People who have the Design Studio, really like it and use it all the time. It gives you more flexibility in creating your pages. It does things like "welding" your letters together, giving you limitless possibilities to create your own phrases or titles. This class is being offered March 18 at 6:30p. You do not have to have the Design Studio program to attend. This would be a good chance to see if this program is for you. Also, Cricut Club Members, Linda will be here, showing you a project you can make on the Cricut. Make sure you mark March 08 on your calendar to attend. We are very excited to have the opportunity to show you all the amazing things the Cricut has to offer. Come and let Linda show you how to get the best use of this incredible machine.

Don't forget about the All Day Crop on Sat, Feb 28. We have a few spots left. Call and get signed up for this day of fun. You won't want to miss it.

We had our first ScrapBingo last Sunday. It was so much fun that we are going to be having it monthly, the 3rd Sunday of each month. Call, get signed up and bring in your projects to work on while you play Bingo. Come and join in the fun!

Remember to check out our website. We are often adding new classes. I'm sure there's something on it for you!

I hope you get a chance to enjoy the spring-like weather. When walking Vickie's dog, I am amazed at all the flower buds I see. You don't see anything like this until mid-April in Minnesota! I love it!!!!!

Hi Everyone!

I am back from frigid Minnesota, thawing out in the "warm" Seattle weather. When we hit 27 degrees below zero, I knew I had to get back here......and quick! While you are all bundled up in warm winter clothes, I didn't even bring a coat. Not that that was so smart, just didn't think I would need it. So far, so good.

So much has happened here since I left in December. First of all, we have a new employee, Kim. She is so much fun! She is teaching several of our classes. She has an extensive scrapbooking background and is highly creative. Make sure you get in to meet her.
There are tons of items in the clearance area. We are making room for all the new things Marcia and Shawna will be bringing back from CHA. They are in Anaheim, CA right now, watching presentations from various scrapbook companies and taking several classes for the latest ideas and techniques. They are sure to come back loaded with lots of new things. In the meantime, Vickie, Kim and I are holding down the fort so our bosses can "play".

Our "It's Your Life" (aka 365 Days) class has filled up fast. Kim will be starting another one in February. Make sure to sign up for this awesome class. I can't think of a better way to document a year of your life. Check out our website for details.

Remember our Tin Photo Star class that got cancelled due to the weather? Well, we are happy to announce we have it on the schedule for Saturday, Feb 07 at 1:00p. Make sure to sign up soon as we only have a few slots left.

Cricut Club members, don't forget that we are meeting Sunday, Feb 08 at 1:00. I will have a project you can make on the Cricut. Make sure you mark it on your calendar. I want to see all of you!!! I have missed you!

Another favorite class is the Beginner's. This is a good class for those of you who want to learn the basics of scrapbooking. Its a wonderful way to get started. You will leave here with a completed 2pg layout. Can't beat that!! We will also be offering a Beyond the Basics class in February. Check our website for updates on all of our classes.

I am so glad to be back at the store seeing everyone. I will only be here until the 20th of February so come in and see me!
