Hi!
It's so good to finally have a bit of snow during the holidays! It hasn't seemed like Christmas to me because of the lack of snow. Coming from Minnesota, we never suffer from the no-snow syndrome. We have the "too much snow" syndrome! I spoke with my family today and they are snowed in with accumulations of up to 16" of snow. Now that's a snowstorm.
Today, in spite of the weather, we had a good turnout for our Recipe Exchange. Lots and lots of yummy appetizers.
Shawna's Photo Star class is being re-scheduled for later this month, probably before Christmas so you can still get a gift made. Its a great idea for grandparents, parents or anyone who likes having pictures on their walls. Check the website for the date of this class. Its one you won't want to miss.
There are lots of exciting classes coming up for the new year. For those of you who have been extra good and Santa brings you a Cricut machine, we will be having classes towards the end of January. The Cricut Club will continue to be the second Sunday of the month from 1-4p. Make sure to sign up and use your Cricut to help you with your layouts and cards. This is a good time to exchange cartridges and ideas with others. You can also use any of the cartridges the store has.
As I prepare to head back home tomorrow (Minnesota), I want to thank all of you for making me feel so at home here. I have enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. You all have a special place in my heart. You will be missed. I plan to be back the end of January to teach the Cricut classes and help out at the store when Marcia and Shawna attend a convention in California.
However you celebrate this season, I hope you have a joyous time. Take time to be with family and friends who are important to you. Share your heart, as well as your gifts. You never know whose life you may touch.
Happy Holidays!!

Hello Everyone!
Does anyone know how to slow this season down? I am finding myself soooo busy trying to get everything done before I leave for balmy Minnesota next week. My list of things to do keeps growing. It wouldn't be so long if I would finish at least one item! Oh well. Tis the season for long lists of things to do.
This past Saturday was our Open House. We had so much fun! We had lots of fun make and takes. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves by making projects and sampling Marcia and Shawna's delicious treats. Yum yum. A jolly good time was had by all.
This Sunday, December 14 Marcia is having her second annual recipe exchange. This class was a big hit last year when desserts were featured. This year Hors d'oeuvres are the selected item. All you have to do is bring your recipe on a card to exchange with everyone participating in the class. Call to get the updated attendance count. Bring in your recipes and a sample tray for everyone to taste. The class will meet at 1:30p and costs $10.00. You will leave here with several recipes and a 6X6 book to keep them in. How fun is that? Come in and join us for food, fun and laughter. Guaranteed to be plenty of all three!
We are still selling our $60 gift cards for $50. I say that's too good of a deal to pass up.
I hope all of you can take time to do something fun for yourself. We all know this is the time for giving, but sometimes in the spirit of giving we forget to enjoy life. Try not to let that happen to you!

Hi Everyone!

I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving holiday. Mine was wonderful. I think I ate enough to last me for the rest of the year.

It has been a very busy weekend here. As we prepare for this Saturday's Open House, things don't appear to be slowing down. Hopefully my clothes will fit again by next week!

Make sure you take time to come in and join us for our second annual Open House this Saturday, December 06, from 10a-3p. This is a time when Marcia and Shawna extend their thanks to all of you for your continued support and presence here at the Scrapbook Pad. We value each and everyone of you and don't take lightly the great friends we have. We will be having refreshments, make-and-takes, and special gifts. We will also have some markdown items, such as our sale paper for 10 cents each. I think the best deal is when you purchase a $50 gift certificate, we add $10 to it, making it worth $60. Not sure how you can beat that!

I saw a quote the other today that made me stop and smile. I want to share it with all of you.

"As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations,

compounded by December's unpredictable weather, it is good

to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are

worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the

same." (Donald E. Westlake)

Isn't this so true? I just love it.

Come in and see us this Saturday. I hope you can take time during your busyness to enjoy this season.

Hi!
We are busy little elves around here this week. Shawna is trying to get the decorations up, Marcia is getting things together for a stamping and scrapping weekend in Wallace Falls, and Vickie is designing Christmas projects for classes and our Open House in December. What am I doing, you ask? Good question. I'm like Mrs. Claus......busy keeping Santa and the elves in line and not stressing out. Not sure how good of a job I am doing!
Our class schedule is filling up. Check out the website for all the fun classes coming up. Shawna, Vickie and I are all teaching classes during the holidays. Lots of great Christmas gift ideas. We have Christmas blocks, calendars and chipboard books. So much fun stuff!! I love all the glitz and glitter of this season.
If you need to get a gift for that special scrapper, remember we do have gift cards. I can't think of a better gift than to be given money and turned loose in a scrapbook store! Can you imagine the fun?
I hope you enjoy this last week of calm before the festivities of the holidays are upon us. Come in and see me........I think I'm here everyday (just like Mrs. Claus!).

Greetings!
Here it is the middle of the week and I'm just getting around to checking in with everyone. I have been super busy trying to get things prepared for this time of the year. Shawna, Vickie and I are still working on class projects. Keep checking the calendar as new classes are constantly being added. We keep coming up with new ideas!
Our Cricut Club met this last Sunday and we had a lot of fun. Shawna picked up a couple new cartridges for us to use. Yeah! She got Stretch Your Imagination and Joys of the Season. These are great ones. Club Members, come in and play with them!!!!
Vickie's Technique Classes have been a big hit. This Sunday she is making a Christmas Explosion book. It's sooo cute! Shawna taught a Theresa Collins Spooktacular book (fun!) and now she will be doing a Tis The Season one. Check the website for pictures of this one. It is fun and easy and would make a perfect gift.
These past several weeks I have watched truckloads of product being delivered. I thought our store would burst at the seams. Well, the items haven't stayed in the store long enough to create any space problems! I didn't think it was possible for product to fly out the door faster than it came in. Our Thanksgiving papers are beautiful. Our Christmas papers and embellishments are just as pretty and fun. The colors this year are so warm. You need to come in and see for yourself. Also come in and check out Shawna's decorations. The place is really looking festive!
Marcia is out this week recovering from some minor surgery. We wish her a speedy recovery. We already miss her!
I'm looking forward to CKC this weekend. I hope to see a lot of you there!
Have fun!

Hi All!

We are now officially in the "holiday" season. Halloween has passed and we are heading towards Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course the real hustle and bustle won't begin until the day after Thanksgiving....aka Black Friday. Shawna and Marcia are planning a huge blowout sale for that weekend. You won't want to miss it. Make sure to come in and use your Turkey Bucks. They expire on November 30th.

Vickie, Shawna and I are busy making projects for classes. We will be having Christmas explosion books and boxes, chipboard books, blocks, etc. All of these projects would make great gifts for family and friends. They are so cute and fun to make!

Our Cricut Club starts this Sunday. Be sure to call and sign up for this fun get-together. The club meets the second Sunday of each month. Just bring your machine and cartridges and exchange with other members and make the die cuts you want. Good way to get the dies you want without having to purchase the entire cartridge! Also a great way to get new ideas for using the cartridges. Membership for the 2009 year (+ 2 free months!) is $25. If you want to come month by month, the cost is $5 per month. We will be meeting in the back room from 1:00-4:00. Marcia has several cartridges that are available to us, too. Can't wait!!!

The Cricut II class is scheduled for December. I am going to show you how to use ink cartridges, cut chipboard, vinyl, etc. This will be a good way to learn the expanded uses for your Cricut. We have ink cartridges in stock now and the deep housing blade system for cutting chipboard, etc. is on order. We are getting a limited supply in the first shipment. You can call us and reserve one. We already have a list of people wanting them. Another exciting class!

Most of you are aware that the CKU convention is Nov. 14-15. We have some coupons left for a $2 discount on admission. Come in and get some for you and your group. Vickie and I are going on Friday; Shawna and Marcia on Saturday. I've never been to one so I'm excited. In Minneapolis we have the Archiver's ScrapFest in September every year. Its at the Mall of America and covers several floors of the mall. Its huge. I've done major damage there. We'll see how I do at CKU.

Our All Day Crop is scheduled for Saturday, November 22. Come in and sign up for a day of fun with friends.

Make sure to take time to enjoy this change of season. The leaves are beautiful, wet, but pretty just the same. I love the colors. Also, remember to get out and vote tomorrow. Its important.

Have a good week!

Hi!

I can't believe we are at the end of October already. If November flies by as quickly as October has, I'll be in big trouble for Christmas! Luckily we have been getting our Christmas papers and embellishments in. Oh they are sooooo cute! Some of the papers have already sold out. They have been very popular. We still have a few boxes to unpack.

We had our all-day crop last Saturday. More than 20 women gathered in our classroom. From the sounds of all the laughter, they had more fun than should be allowed. Marcia's homemade soup was a big hit. The croppers love her cooking. So do her employees!

This week is a big challenge for us. We are changing over to a new computer system tomorrow, Tuesday. We will still honor the gift cards and punch cards you currently have, however, starting tomorrow your punch card points will show up on your receipt. This means you will no longer have to keep track of your card. YEAH!! I'm all for that. Be patient with us as we try and learn this new system. You know how tough it is to teach an old dog new tricks!

Turkey Bucks are back and have been seen flying out the door by leaps and bounds. This is our way of showing our loyal customers just how much we appreciate you in our lives. For every $10 you spend from now until Thanksgiving, we give you a $1 Turkey Buck. You can redeem these "dollars" the weekend after Thanksgiving. Be sure to come in that weekend because they expire on November 30th. You don't want to lose your money!

As we prepare for our little ghosts and goblins to go trick or treating this Friday, let's remember to have a fun and safe Halloween!

HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!!!
I hope everyone is reminiscing today, remembering way back when we were in school and learned about Christopher Columbus sailing the ocean blue in 1492 on the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. That's pretty much sums up what I remember! As I have been thinking today, I have let my mind wander back to my school days, how much different things were than they are today. When I went to kindergarten, it was half day and we had nap time. Can you imagine? Now they barely have time for snacks. My preschool experience was spent in the backyard playing with other neighbor children. Remembering the neighborhood I lived in at that time, I'm sure what I learned was not appropriate for my young ears and eyes to experience. Nonetheless, I have fond memories of my school days. As I walk through the store and see all of the new school products we just got in, I can't help but smile and think about the "good old days". The bright school embellishments also remind me of the fun my grandchildren now get to have in school. Again, I smile.
I seem to be on a first name basis with the FedEx man. He has been delivering new things nearly every day this week! I love it! We have gotten new baby girl and baby boy albums (oh so cute!!!), halloween embellishments, and Christmas papers and embellishments by the truck
load! It has been so much fun. I'm also hearing about the fun things that haven't arrived yet....things like "inchies" and Cricut Inks. Inchies are little 1" x 1" stamps. A lot of times they are mounted onto a canvas or a card, displaying several at once. The Inchie Invasion has become very popular in places all over the world. People create their artwork and trade or sell with others. Its an amazing club. The Cricut Inks are an amazing addition to your Cricut capabilities. These pens replace the cutting blade and "draw" the character instead of cutting it. They are great for drawing on your layouts. You can also ink the character and then go back and cut it out with the blade. It makes for a great colored border. Watch for classes on these new items and more coming in November. You won't want to miss out on anything!
As our weather gets a bit colder, put on a jacket and come and see us. Bring your projects and if we aren't teaching a class, you can work in our back room for FREE! You can spread out and be creative and just have a good, relaxing time. There's nothing like getting away from the phone and other distractions to clear the mind and let it run wild! There's bound to be a laugh or two happening around here, too. Don't want to miss out on that!!
See you!

Hi All!
This has been a super busy week. Our classroom has been full with croppers and classes. Vickie's Disney book has been a big hit. In fact, she is offering it again in November. It is super cute and very detailed. The Cricut Club is in the works. It looks like we will meet the first Sunday of each month to swap cartridges and ideas. Guaranteed to be a lot of fun! We have been getting daily shipments of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas products. The papers are beautiful. We also have lots of embellishments and projects. Again, more and more fun! And speaking of fun, don't forget about Lindy's Fall Fancy Fold class this Saturday, Oct 11 from 12:30-2:30. She has some pretty and unique cards you will be making.
I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful fall weather. I love the changing colors of the leaves. Everyday they seem to get more vibrant.
Come in and see us!

Hi Everyone!

What a busy weekend we had here! We had our ScrapPink fund raiser on Saturday and it was fabulous!!! Nearly 30 women joined us for our Susan G. Komen crop for the cure. There was a ton of pink in our classroom. We had pink prizes and projects and lots of food! Kudos to Marcia and Shawna for their work in organizing and setting up this huge party. It was a great success.
As we try and get back to "normal" this week, I want to remind you to keep checking our calendar for new classes being offered. Shawna is going to teach her I Am Thankful mini-book on Saturday, November 01 from 2-4p. Vickie's Disney 8X8 album is this Saturday, October 04 from 1-4p. It is the most detailed Disney book I have ever seen! She has everything cut out for you, all you have to do it put it together. It even includes a Disney album. You won't be disappointed in this class. She has openings for 2 more people. My Cricut class is this Wednesday, October 01 from 6-8:30p. There has been a lot of interest in this class so if Wednesday doesn't work for you, I am offering it again on Sunday, October 12 from 12-2:30p. I am also working on setting up a Cricut Club. It will be a monthly get-together where we can swap cartridges and ideas. If you have any suggestions for this class, be sure to let me know.
I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy this wonderful autumn weather. While you are out and about, come in and see us!!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Debb and I am taking over for Brandi. We miss you, Brandi! I know some of you from when I worked at the store last spring when Marcia went on her 5 week vacation. But I want to know ALL of you! Please come in and see me.
A little bit about myself.............according to the IRS, I live in Minnesota, however this year I more than qualify for Washington residency. I come and stay with my friend, Vickie, who also works here. The accomodations are fabulous..........I have my own room, car and computer. What else do I need?? Did I mention that Vickie also is a great cook? My friends back in MN say I should move here, but I have 2 precious granddaughters, a third one coming in January, and I just can't be so far away. I am an official empty-nester now since my last child graduated from college in May and is working as an RN in San Diego. I have been a flight attendant for 35 years, started just before I was 10. I am on a leave of absence which is why I can spend lots of time here. I am a quilter by heart, but Vickie started me scrapbooking several years ago and I have been hooked ever since! I love all the new papers and embellishments we have gotten in the store lately. You need to come in and see them.
Oops, Vickie just walked by and said I was supposed to be blogging about the store, not me. Oh well. That will be another day.
We are busy getting ready for our Scrappink crop this Saturday. I can't believe all the cool things Marcia and Shawna are planning. We have just a couple of spots left so come and join us in cropping for the cure. Not only is it for a good cause, but its guaranteed to be lots of fun!
Come in so I can meet all of you!

Hello Everyone,
We have been super busy around the store. Sorry for the late post, my husband and I purchased our first home (YAY!) and have been really busy with moving. I wanted to get on here and make sure you all knew I was thinking about you.
Vicki has been busy with her classes for the summer. Stop by the store and check out all the fun things she has planned. Deb (Vicki's friend) has been visiting with us and it has been great having her around to spend time with. You may remember her working the store when Marcia was on her cruise. Stop in and say hello!
Marcia and Shawna have been really busy planning our next big event at the store. We are participating in the ScrapPink event and it's going to be really fun. Remember not only are you having a great time scrapping with friends, but you are raising money for a wonderful cause because a portion of the crop fee is going to the Susan G Koman foundation.
Starting in August you can start bringing in a layout that has pink in it and we will be voting for our favorite! I personally can't wait to see what you all bring because PINK is my favorite color!!!!
Well ta-ta for now!
